Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “

10 years ago life changed for America...today we remember those who lost their
lives at the Pentagon, in NYC at the Twin Towers, and since then, fighting in the wars to protect us. I saw this video on a friends facebook wall today and it was so amazing. How this pilot was so close to losing his life-because he should have been flying flight 11-but someone took his place. Watch all the way to the end to see how he correlates it with Christ's love for us and Jesus dying on the cross and taking our place.
Do you remember where you were? I do. I was actually packing up at Appalachian State University to move out of the dorm back home. I had had surgery about 2 weeks before my sophomore year of college (the first of 3 within a short time period) and the doctor said I would be more than fine to go back to school. I wasn't. I was unable to keep up the pace of my school work, sorority, etc with the way I felt. We had made the decision for me to medically withdraw for the semester which was actually good, as things got worse and I had another surgery soon after getting home-but back to the point I was making. I clearly remember packing up and then getting on the internet and seeing the news reports. I went next door and woke up two of my good friends at the time and said to turn on the tv and look at what was happening. If facebook and twitter had been around then, it would have been crazy to see the posts...I remember calling my parents freaking out and the rumors that the terrorists were heading down the coast with their plot. Obviously made up, but still, everyone was freaking out about what was happening and what would come next. Our world that had been so "safe" the day before was completely changed and shattered. I couldn't wait for my mom to get to Boone so I could hug her. I wanted to see my family right then. I couldn't get in touch with my aunt and uncle who lived and worked outside of DC. I had just been to NYC the year before-IN the twin towers- on my sr. trip the year before...I couldn't believe that I had been in the place where this was happening....when I finally got home late that night I remember watching the news non-stop. NYC1 or whatever it is called was on our tv with all the coverage from NY. I wanted to help, but I didn't know how to-except to pray..anyway...enough on that for now....
I wasn't going to post anything on it. In fact, my plan was to ignore all of it so I didn't have to relive the news coverage etc....selfish I know, but I wanted to just ignore it. And then today came. And I woke up at 7 and realized it was 8 EST...and how it was the last little bit before life changed 10 years ago.
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
