This afternoon's group was making penguins with casting material. Things were kinda quiet, so I decided to help D. with it and see how they turned out/help where needed. The kids seemed to enjoy it and did an awesome job. I made one also to see how it worked doing it a different way and it turned out like this: [i'll add the picture later...]
Overall, both activities went really well...anyway...
Glitter & Glue Snowflakes
Items needed: wax paper, glue, glitter
This one is pretty basic. All you do is place the wax paper down and make a snowflake pattern with the glue on the wax paper. Next, you simply put the glitter over the glue/sprinkle it off and let it dry.
I read on one of the sites I found it on to let it dry for two day then you can hang them up around the house/room/etc... I let mine dry about 4 hours today and it was alright pulling 2 of them off, but they ripped some because they were so thin. I did leave one on the wax paper to see if it comes off easier. If I was doing it again (which I'm sure I will), I will make the snowflake "arms" a bit thicker so that it will have more support....other than that, I think this is a pretty good activity that kids will enjoy doing and hanging around the house....
